London Newborn Photographer

I love my work as a London newborn photographer. It really is such a privilege to be invited into family homes at this incredibly special time. And to photograph their precious new arrival is an honour indeed.

London Newborn Photographer in your Home

My London newborn photography sessions take place in the family home, rather than a studio. This is so much more relaxing for the family and it’s also wonderful to include the family home in the background of the photographs. So when the baby grows up they’ll be able to enjoy seeing the home they started their life in.

I had photographed this family a couple of years ago, when their boy was a newborn himself. So it was fantastic to return after the arrival of his baby sister. After a quick catch up we began our London baby photography session with some relaxed family portraits in the garden. We didn’t stay outside too long, as it was a bit chilly, but it was lovely to get some family photos outdoors before heading inside.

Simple, natural newborn portraits

It usually works really well photographing babies on a large bed, especially on a plain white cover. I took lots of beautiful portraits of this sweet little baby on her own, which I was really happy with. The cute newborn was then joined by her mother and we got a wonderful selection of photos of her cuddling her baby girl. The black and white photo below of the two of them together is actually one of my favourite photos from our family photoshoot.

Fun family portraits

It was then time for some portraits of the whole family together on the bed. I love the photo below of the dad holding up his laughing son, with the mum and baby looking fondly on.

I hope you enjoy seeing these natural newborn and family portraits. If you have a baby due and would like to book a newborn photography session, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. More examples of my baby photography can be found here London Baby Photographer

Natural Baby Photographer

I seem to be working a lot as a natural baby photographer at the moment. I’ve had lots of newborn photography sessions over the last few months and it’s been wonderful! If you’ve seen my website, you’ll know that I love photographing children outdoors. So many of my London family photography sessions take place in the family’s favourite park. But with newborn babies it works better to have the baby photoshoot in the comfort of your own home, especially in the colder months!

Natural baby photographer in the relaxing surroundings of your home

We can get some fantastic natural family portraits in various rooms of your home. And also create beautiful portraits of your baby alone. And all the time you can just relax, without worrying about leaving your home and trying to arrive at a studio at a certain time!

The family in the photo below were lovely – I’d photographed them several times before, with other family members. But the last time I’d seen them was before the pandemic, when their little boy was a newborn. And now there was a new addition to their family, a gorgeous baby girl. And I was so excited to photograph them as a family of four.

Baby portraits, child portraits and natural family photographs

As well as getting lots of baby portraits of their cute little newborn daughter, I also took some child portraits of the boy alone. I try and have great variety in the gallery of photos I provide each family. So there’s always a large selection of individual portraits and group shots to choose from.

We also created natural family portraits in various rooms of the family home. And even a few in the garden, although it was a little chilly to be outside for long! The photo below is one of my favourites from this London baby photography session. I just love the interaction of the whole family together. The wonderful laughter of the little boy, the loving gazes of the parents, and the interesting look from his baby sister. I hope you enjoy seeing it too.

If you have a newborn baby and would like to record this precious time with a family photoshoot, please do get in touch. More of my work as a Natural Baby Photographer can be found here London Baby Photographer

Newborn baby photographer

Working as a newborn baby photographer must be one of the best jobs in the world! I feel so lucky to be welcomed into homes to photograph families with their new bundle of joy. It’s such a special time in family life and to be asked to record it is a privilege indeed.

Baby photography in the comfort of your own home

I prefer to do my London newborn photography sessions in the family home, rather than a studio. This is for a few reasons. Firstly, as I remember when my two children first arrived, it’s so hard to get out of the house with a newborn! I can’t imagine how stressed I would have been in those early weeks if I’d had to travel and turn up for a photography session at a particular time! It’s so much more relaxing to have the newborn photoshoot in the comfort of your own home.

Secondly, rather than having plain studio walls in the background, it’s much more meaningful to have your family home providing the backdrop to the images. And also, if there are older siblings it can be easier to have them in their own home too. Rather than running around in a park when you’re trying to take the family portraits!

Newborn baby photographer at Christmas

I loved photographing the family in the photos below. This newborn photography session took place just before Christmas. As well as the gorgeous baby girl and her doting parents, there was also a very proud older sister and loving grandparents there too. So it really was a fun session! And as the parents had booked one of my longer sessions it was very relaxed. We had lots of time to photograph different family groups and create a variety of natural family portraits. There was also time to capture some more candid moments of the family enjoying spending this precious time together.

I hope you enjoy seeing this selection of newborn photographs as much as I enjoyed taking them. If you have a baby due and would like to book one of my newborn baby photography sessions, please do get in touch. More examples of my baby photography can be found here London Baby Photographer

Autumn Family Photographer

Being an Autumn family photographer is one of my absolute favourite things! It’s such a wonderful time of year for London family photography for so many reasons. The Autumn leaves provide the most beautiful colourful backdrops for family portraits. The light is gorgeous, especially if we’re treated to some low sunshine. And it doesn’t get much cuter than seeing little kids wrapped up in their cosy hats and scarves. All in all, the conditions are perfect for this London family photographer!

Autumn Family Photographer in the park

I met up with this lovely family last year on a really chilly Autumn day. They were about to move out of London and wanted to have some family portraits taken in their local park. This way they would always be reminded of the fun times they had together in their favourite park. The family wrapped up to keep warm and I love how the colours of their clothes matched the carpet of Autumn leaves on the ground. We chose a beautiful spot in the park to take a series of natural family portraits.

After a few smiles at the camera I asked the family to cuddle up close to keep warm. At that moment the big sister decided to plant a huge kiss on her baby brother’s cheek. It was absolutely adorable and luckily I manged to capture it in one of my favourite photos from this Autumn family portrait session. The way the baby boy’s little face is all squidged up and the happy smiles of the parents add to the pure joy of this image.

If you’re interested in creating your own memorable image of your unique family, please do get in touch. My London family photography sessions can take place in your family home or favourite park. And not only will you have a set of wonderful photographs to treasure forever, but you’ll also have a lot of fun along the way! Playground Portraits

I was delighted with these playground portraits, which I took during a recent London family photography session. When families book one of my London family photoshoots, they are sometimes worried about how they are going to keep their children still while I take the photos! I completely understand their concerns, as when my two were little I had the exact same thoughts! The answer is – I don’t try and get them to be still at all. They can do exactly as they please and have fun, while I capture natural candid portraits of them.

Natural family photography

Whether your family photography session is in your home or your favourite London park, you and your children can enjoy spending time together and pretend I’m not there (I promise I won’t be offended!) I might guide you sometimes, but I won’t ask you to stare at the camera for ages, smiling awkwardly for the photographs. I much prefer to take completely natural photos of your family and capture genuine laughter, rather than forced smiles.

Happy playground portraits

This is why I really enjoy doing part of my London family photography sessions at the playground. Especially if it’s one that your children are familiar with and will therefore feel really comfortable in. The children often don’t even notice me and my camera and just have fun on their favourite swing or seesaw. And I can create beautiful, unique portraits of your children doing what they love best.

Festive family portraits

The two photos below were taken during a wonderful London family photoshoot just before Christmas. We’d started the session in the family home, getting a variety of natural family portraits in front of the Christmas tree. We then made our way to the family’s local park. After getting some more portraits at some of my favourite spots in this beautiful park, we finished our session at the playground. I was so pleased with these two fun portraits. The children look so happy, and I love how the vibrant red colour links both portraits together.

St Pancras Portrait Photographer

Being a St Pancras portrait photographer was the perfect way to spend an afternoon just before Christmas. The lovely mum and son in the photos below were holidaying in London and wanted to capture this special time with a London vacation photography session. They were staying at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel London so were keen to have some photos taken there. They also wanted to have some festive portraits in front of other beautiful Christmas decorations in London.

St Pancras Portrait Photographer – Hotel and Station

We met up at the St Pancras Hotel and began with some photos on the stunning Grand Staircase. This famous staircase is just fantastic and was perfect for some portraits of mum and son. Then, after a quick change of outfit, we moved outside and used the wonderful building of St Pancras Hotel as a backdrop to our images.

We then decided to take a series of London portraits in St Pancras station itself. It was a fantastically photogenic space with its high ceiling and I knew it was going to work brilliantly in the photos. And this stylish pair looked fabulous, as they wandered around the (luckily for us) empty station.

Covent Garden Christmas Portraits

We then made our way to Covent Garden, where there was time for more festive portraits in the beautifully decorated Apple Market. Covent Garden is one of my favourite areas of London for Christmas family photography sessions, so I’m always happy to return there.

Family portraits with the lights of Carnaby Street

It was starting to go dark at this point, so the perfect time to make our way to Carnaby Street. This was the area that the lady in the photos was most looking forward to visiting. The Carnaby Street Christmas lights and decorations cause a lot of excitement every year, and I was so happy with the colourful, vibrant portraits we created of this lovely mother and son duo.

I really hope you enjoy seeing these London vacation photography images. To see more of my family portraits around London please do take a look at my website here London Vacation Photographer

Tower Bridge Family Portraits

It was such fun doing these Tower Bridge Family Portraits towards the end of last year. The family had booked one of my London vacation photography sessions while they were holidaying in London. And the location they chose for their family portraits was Tower Bridge. I was so happy, as it’s one of my favourite areas for London family photography.

The main aim was to get a fantastic image of the whole family together, and headshots of each child on their own. These photos were to be used on the family’s Christmas card. What a wonderful idea!

Festive family portraits at Hay’s Galleria

We met up early one morning and began our London vacation photography session at Hay’s Galleria.  If you don’t already know Hay’s Galleria it’s well worth a visit. It’s a spectacular building with a fabulous ceiling, situated by the River Thames between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. It was the perfect spot to begin our festive family photoshoot, as it was so beautifully decorated for Christmas. There was a huge Christmas tree, which we used as a backdrop for some fun family portraits and natural headshot photos of the children.

Tower Bridge family portraits

Once I was happy that we had a good variety of Christmas family portraits in the fantastic Hay’s Galleria, we walked the short distance to Tower Bridge. Once again, we got a good variety of family portraits, some with everyone smiling at the camera, others more candid. I also got headshots of everyone here, to give the family a good selection of photos to choose from when designing their Christmas card.

London family photography at Shad Thames

We finished this Christmassy London family photography session at Shad Thames, which always looks great in photographs, with its cobbled streets and old warehouse buildings.

I enjoyed taking these Tower Bridge family portraits so much. The family were an absolute delight to meet and photograph, and we had such a fun time together.

Family photos at home

As well as doing London photography sessions outdoors in parks, I also take lots of family photos at home. This is for a variety of reasons, one of them being the weather! If it’s freezing cold outside, families often prefer to have their family portraits taken in the warmth of their home. Or if they have a newborn baby, it’s much better to stay home for the baby photography session. And sometimes the family just find it easier being in their own home, especially when the children are little and might get distracted at the park.

Why having family photos at home can be the perfect option

Whatever the reason for having your family photos at home, it can work brilliantly. Everyone is relaxed, the children feel safe in a familiar environment and your home provides the backdrop to the family photos. How fascinating this will be in years to come, looking back on your home décor as fashions change.

This was my second portrait photoshoot with the family in the photos below. Their first session was outside on a warm summer’s day, when their twin girls were around six months old. For the second session, which they booked to celebrate the girls turning one, the weather was much colder. So we opted for a family photoshoot at home, in their beautiful London flat.

Natural baby twin portraits

The girls were fabulously smiley, and we got lots of beautiful baby portraits of them together and on their own. One of my favourite photos of these cute twins is the first one below. Apparently, the girl on the left spends a lot of time in this position reading books, so I was keen to capture this in a photo.  I was delighted when her twin sister started playing with a toy next to her. With my camera held high I took a few photos. I was so happy with this one, the girls in the same position, but one looking up, one down.

Autumn family portraits

The family flat had a balcony which looked onto some beautiful trees, which were still full of Autumn colour. Although it was cold outside, we braved it for a few minutes to get a variety of portraits of the sisters with their parents. The resulting autumnal family portraits were stunning – the lovely parents looking so proudly at their very happy baby girls.

Christmas Vacation Photography

I loved this Christmas Vacation Photography session so much! The family were visiting London and wanted some festive family portraits taken at London landmarks. Their session was 3 hours long, so plenty of time to take in the sights. But there was one thing I needed to know before planning their family photoshoot. How far were they happy to walk? Luckily for me they loved walking, so we planned a wonderful route starting in Covent Garden and ending at Tower Bridge. That is quite a long walk, but a beautiful one, along the River Thames.

A very festive Covent Garden

We met up one morning a few weeks back and began our London family photography session in Covent Garden. The Christmas decorations at Covent Garden always look spectacular, and I knew they would provide fantastic backdrops for the family portraits. And they did!

Autumn family portraits and graffiti!

We then made our way to Victoria Embankment Gardens. There was still some Autumnal foliage left on the trees, and I was keen to include it in some of the family portraits. Then we wandered across the Golden Jubilee Bridge, which looked beautiful in some casual walking shots of the family. And our next stop was the Southbank Skatepark. I’ve done so many London family photoshoots in front of these graffiti-covered walls and I’m still amazed how fabulous they look in photographs.

Vacation Photography at St Paul’s Cathedral

Carrying on further along the river, we took in Gabriel’s Wharf (with its colourful shops and restaurants) and the striking Oxo Tower. Then we arrived at one of my favourite backdrops for London vacation photography. The view of St Paul’s Cathedral from the Millennium Bridge. I took a variety of family portraits on the bridge which were wonderfully fun and natural. And I was overjoyed to hear later that the second photo of the blog ended up large and framed in the family home. They loved it that much!

Christmas Vacation Photography at Tower Bridge

We’d been walking for quite a while at this point, so a visit to Borough Market seemed a perfect idea. The family sampled some of the gorgeous food from a few of the stalls, while I took some candid shots of them. And then it was on to the final magnificent landmark – Tower Bridge, which was looking fabulously festive.

I absolutely loved this Christmas Vacation Photography session. The family were brilliant fun and I enjoyed my morning with them so much. If you’re visiting London, why not hire a professional family photographer to record your special time in this fantastic city? Details of how I work can be found here London Vacation Photographer

Cannizaro Park Family Portraits

I had such a wonderful time creating these Cannizaro Park family portraits. The family were great fun and I loved spending a morning with them. The location was perfect too! Cannizaro Park is a beautiful park just off Westside Wimbledon Common. It actually has Grade II status due to some of its rare plants, which are all around the park. It really is well worth a visit if you don’t know it already.

We met up at Cannizaro Park early one morning, when the light was at its best. After a quick chat with the parents and their two lovely lively boys, we made our way to the rose garden. There are so many wonderfully different areas to the park we were spoilt for choice really. But the rose garden felt like the perfect starting place.

We got some lovely relaxed family portraits here and some fun shots of the boys playing together. Nearby we found some fallen tree trunks, which made fantastic seats for the boys while I took individual portraits of them, then some of the two siblings together.

Cannizaro Park Family Portraits – Italian Garden

We then went to my favourite area of Cannizaro Park, the Italian Garden. The old walls surrounding the garden made a wonderful backdrop to the natural family portraits. We actually spent most of the session here, creating different looks with various family combinations. I especially like the photos where the family are standing behind the wall, next to the stairs. The lovely old brick wall, the smiles of the family and the stunning trees behind them helped make some wonderful family portraits.

All too soon our session came to an end. It had gone by so quickly, but we had managed to capture a large variety of images. I was so happy with the photos we got that morning and was overjoyed to hear the family loved them too!
