Christmas Couples Photography

I loved this Christmas couples photography session so much. And it actually produced one of my favourite images of 2022! The couples portrait, from a session in Covent Garden, is the first one below. This lovely couple were on holiday in London just before Christmas. And we got a fantastic selection of photographs of them wandering around Covent Garden. They were such a great couple and I thought the colourful, cobbled street matched their fun personalities (and colourful clothes) perfectly!

I know Covent Garden really well and it’s one of my favourite locations for my London photography sessions. It’s full of charm and quirky side streets, and so many interesting backgrounds.

Christmas couples photography in Neals Yard

We began our London couples photography session in Neals Yard, a colourful little courtyard full of restaurants and cafés. It’s fairly tucked away, and is often a lovely surprise for the families or couples I’m photographing.

After this we made our way along Shelton Street to another of my favourite backdrops in Covent Garden, a bright yellow shop called Grosvenor Prints. As well as providing a wonderfully fun background, the shop is also one of the few remaining shops dealing in antique books and prints.

Fun portraits with red telephone boxes!

We then found a row of red telephone boxes which looked great in some more couples portraits. After this we took several photos alongside the magnificent columns of the Royal Opera House and we then made our way to the Apple Market in the heart of Covent Garden. Here you can find a wide range of market stalls, offering unique handmade crafts and goods. You can also find some distinctive green columns, which look great in family and couples portraits.

A festive couples photography session

We ended this wonderful London couples photography session with a festive feel. The beautifully decorated Christmas trees next to the market provided a perfect Christmassy background, and we also found a lovely shop nearby decorated with candy canes and a bright red sleigh. I enjoyed spending time with this lovely couple so much and was really happy with the variety of images from our session.

Chelsea Portrait Photographer

I had such a fun time being a Chelsea portrait photographer last year and I’m so happy to share the photos. This London portrait photography session took place last October on an unusually mild Autumn day. The lovely American lady in the photos was visiting London for work and wanted to have some new headshots done. The plan was to take her London portraits around Chelsea, where her London work was based.

London headshot with a red bus

I wanted to include a “London” feel to the photos and I was really pleased with the first portrait below. The red London bus whizzing past in the background adds such an exciting element to the image. We also took a series of portraits using the beautiful red brick mansions as a backdrop, so typical of this fashionable area of London.

And for contrast we made the most of the beautiful Autumn colours. There’s a lovely square not far from Sloane Square, full of magnificent tall trees. They provided the perfect natural background for more portraits of this lovely lady.

Chelsea portrait photographer with colourful doors

As we wandered around Chelsea, we discovered street after street of beautiful houses with colourful front doors. We used lots of these doors to add a pop of colour to the London headshots. This gave such variety to the photos, each colour creating a different mood.

We ended our Chelsea portrait photography session using the steps of the Saatchi Gallery and various shop fronts. All in all, it was the most wonderful London headshot photography session and I was really happy with the photos.

Knightsbridge Family Photographer

Being a Knightsbridge family photographer recently brought me great joy! I was photographing a fabulous family who wanted some portraits taken around the streets of Knightsbridge. As well as wanting to update their family photographs they also wanted a few special ones to use for their Christmas card. I was only too happy to make this happen for them.

The family not only looked fantastic but were such fun to photograph. It was a pleasure to capture some lovely moments of them spending quality family time together. In addition we also got lots of photos of the three children together.

Knightsbridge family photographer with red brick mansions

We began our Knightsbridge family photography session on a street of tall red brick mansions. The area is full of this architecture and it looked wonderful as a backdrop to the natural family portraits.

We also found a lovely little mews street for more family photographs. I love most mews streets in London, but especially when they feature a pretty pink house.

A picturesque church was our next stop, the entrance of which framed the parents and the children perfectly.

Festive Knightsbridge family portraits

Our final stop outside was a fun, festive scene with Christmas tree, snow and its own red London telephone box!

We then made our way back to the family home for a few portraits in front of the Christmas tree. We got such a great variety of photos during our session and I was overjoyed to hear the family were delighted with the results. They’d already picked out their favourite images and were looking forward to designing their Christmas card.

Family Portraits in London Parks

I love taking family portraits in London parks. And wow, how lucky are we in London with the number of beautiful parks we have?! We are spoilt for choice and it’s one of my favourite things about living in London.

Family Portraits in Holland Park

It’s not just the larger Royal Parks that I like to visit, but I also love to use the smaller lesser known parks. One that springs to mind is Holland Park situated west of Kensington Gardens. It has the most beautiful flower beds and the stunning Japanese Kyoto Garden. And if you’re really lucky you might even have a peacock wander into your family portraits!

London family photography in Chiswick House and Gardens

Another favourite location of mine is Chiswick House and Gardens. It’s a wonderful space full of greenery and stunning architecture. And although I’ve photographed many families there, I still discover beautiful new backdrops whenever I return.

Fun family portraits in London Parks

This particular London family photography session took place last Autumn. And the London park the family chose for their portraits was full of wonderful colour. Gorgeous reds, oranges and yellows provided the perfect backdrop to the lovely family in the photos. The family were such fun to be with and we got some fantastic, natural portraits of them all playing together.

I also wanted to take lots of portraits of the young boy on his own. We found a short tree trunk which worked perfectly as a seat. He had such a good time exploring the trunk and to his joy discovered it was hollow. So we created lots of fun, natural portraits of him – both sitting on the trunk and standing inside it.

Relaxed childrens portraits

I also really love the photos of him in front of the stunning red leaves. It really was the perfect backdrop for these relaxed childrens portraits.

If you’d like to book your own London family photography session, please do get in touch. Whether you’d like your family portraits taken in a London park or another favourite location, we’ll make the perfect plan for your unique family. More of my work can be found here London Family Photographer

Family Portraits at Home

Having your family portraits at home works brilliantly for several reasons. From a practical point of view, it’s so relaxing for the family to be able to stay in their home, rather than trying to get everyone out of the house at a certain time. This is especially helpful when your children are very little!

Also, your children can be more relaxed in their home, which shines through in the photographs. And the main reason for me is that the family home becomes the backdrop to the family portraits. This is lovely now, but imagine how amazing it will become in years to come. When the children are grown up and can look at the photos and be reminded of the family home where they grew up.

Beautiful family portraits at home

The family in the photos below wanted to have their family portraits at home, partly because with six busy people in the family it was easier to organise. And also, their home was absolutely beautiful! I was so happy with all the different backgrounds to work with.

The family were such good fun and I loved photographing them. One of my favourite family portraits from our morning together is the first one below. We were actually trying to recreate a photo the family had taken when the children were much younger. This is always a challenge, but one I’m very happy to have a go at! I love the resulting family portrait so much. Everyone looks so happy to be together.

Natural portraits of each family member

I really like the individual portraits of each family member too (including the cat of course!) It’s something I try and do in every London family photography session. These solo portraits turned out fun and natural, just the way I like them!

If you’re interested in having some family portraits at home, please do get in touch. I’d love to create some unique images for you and your family to treasure forever. You can find more example of my family portraits here London Family Photographer

Mayfair Family Photographer

I had such fun being a Mayfair family photographer last year and I’m delighted to share some of the images with you. The lovely lady in the photos below had booked one of my London vacation photography sessions. She was visiting London with her family and wanted to record their adventures with some professional photographs. They were staying in a hotel in Mayfair, one of the most beautiful locations in London. Bordering leafy Hyde Park and Green Park, this fashionable area is full of elegant townhouses and beautiful hotels. It was at the hotel where the family were staying that we began our family portrait session. We wanted to keep the session relaxed, so we planned to take the photos in the hotel and surrounding streets.

Mayfair family photographer at Tiffany’s

The family were absolutely fantastic to spend time with and laughed their way through the session. I particularly love the natural portraits we captured near Tiffany’s the world-famous jewellers. The boy’s doting parents swung him around, producing genuine moments of joy, which shines through in the photographs.

Family portraits with a red London telephone box

I also really like the family images by the red London telephone box. The lively young boy was having fun playing hide and seek. And he thought it hilarious to surprise his parents by running into their arms. Then followed some jumps for joy outside the Ralph Lauren store and some family cuddles in front of the Cartier shop. After that it was sadly time to finish this wonderful London vacation photography session.

Portraits of Sisters

I had such a fun time taking these portraits of sisters. They were lovely to spend time with and obviously had a great relationship, which I hope I captured in the images. We did most of the photoshoot in the family home and garden, and also took some photos in the street just outside their house. This gave us great variety in the portrait photographs that we ended up with.

Relaxed London headshot photography

When I do my headshot photography sessions with one person, I try and make them feel as comfortable as possible by chatting away about anything and everything. In this situation it was so easy with these sisters, as they had each other to talk to about everything under the sun. It certainly made my job very easy!

They were absolutely delightful young ladies, and obviously very talented too. One was already at university, the other studying for A levels. It was fascinating to hear about their lives, and I loved creating some natural portraits for them and their parents to enjoy forever.

Natural and fun portraits of sisters

Some of my favourite portraits from this sibling portrait session, are the ones at the end of the blog post. The girls were standing outside their front door, and by this point were pretty relaxed about the whole thing. We managed to capture some beautifully natural smiles and laughter from both these lovely sisters. And I love the fact that the backdrop is the front door of their family home. This will mean so much to all the family in years to come.

I’d love to photograph you in a relaxed, fun photoshoot. To see more of my portraits please do take a look at my website here London Headshot Photographer

Chiswick House family photographer

Being a Chiswick House family photographer is definitely one of my favourite things in life! Chiswick House and Gardens is such a wonderful location for a family photography session. Indeed, it’s one that I regularly recommend to families looking for that perfect location for their photoshoot.

Beautiful natural family portraits

Apart from the magnificent architecture of Chiswick House itself, which provides such an impressive background to any family portrait, there is also the Conservatory, which works brilliantly too. And right next to that are the beautiful Italian Gardens. The lovely family I was photographing walked through the paths of the Gardens, surrounded by purple flowers, and enjoying each other’s company. They were such fun to be with and I got a great variety of colourful family portraits.

The Deer House in Chiswick House and Gardens

In the grounds of Chiswick House and Gardens, there is a small building called the Deer House. It’s such a cute building, perfect for family portraits. It features in quite a few of the photos below. The peeling paint of the black door worked so well for all the children’s portraits too.

We then crossed over the lake, walked past a lovely little waterfall and took lots of family portraits in front of the green trees and on a perfectly positioned fallen some tree trunk. And we finished our London family photography session at the Classic Bridge. The family stood smiling on the bridge and I captured them above the lake, surrounded by the wonderful trees of Chiswick House and Gardens.

I loved photographing this fun family so much, in one of my favourite locations. And I was over the moon to hear how happy they were with their unique Chiswick family portraits.

Kensington Family Photographer

I spent a morning as a Kensington family photographer recently and it was one of the cutest sessions ever! The family had recently moved to London from abroad and wanted to capture this special time in some natural family portraits. As they were not yet familiar with London, the family were not quite sure where they wanted their London photoshoot to take place, so I was happy to recommend some of my favourite locations. In the end we decided to start the session in the gorgeous Holland Park and then move on to nearby Kensington Gardens. Perfect!

Kensington family photographer of twins

The family had the sweetest twin boys, who were an absolute delight to photograph. And they kept smiling throughout the whole of their London family photography session. There was such an amazing bond between the twins, which was wonderful to capture in some natural portraits. One of my favourite photos of them if the first one below. I asked the siblings to sit on some steps, in front of some beautiful flower beds, and look at each other. They chatted away and then one of the twins lifted his hand to touch his brother’s face. It was such a lovely moment and I’m so glad I caught it on camera.

The boys were also very energetic for the whole session, so we got lots of fun photos of them running around the flower beds in Holland Park. And several jumping photos, which make me smile so much.

Natural childrens portraits in Holland Park

We then spent some time in the playground of Holland Park. I always love photographing children in playgrounds. They are so happy to be playing on the slides and swings, that you get nothing but genuine smiles in the photos.

After that we moved on to the wide-open spaces of Kensington Gardens, where the twin boys had a great time blowing bubbles. Using the backdrops of Kensington Palace and also the beautiful trees in the park, we got a fantastic variety of natural portraits of these two lovely twin brothers.

Tower Bridge Engagement Photography

This Tower Bridge engagement photography session was special. As I’m so busy with my family photography these days, I sadly don’t have the time to take on many weddings. But when I do, I love them! When I started my photography business eleven years ago (where did that time go?!!) weddings were my main thing. I photographed weddings all over the country and enjoyed them so much. It sounds cheesy but to photograph a couple’s most special, joyous day really was a privilege I never took for granted. And I feel exactly the same way now.

This couple’s wedding is taking place next year in Kent and I can’t wait! We met up over the summer for their Tower Bridge engagement photography session and had a brilliant morning together. They are such a wonderful couple and we chatted and laughed our way through the engagement shoot.

We started off taking photos near Tower Bridge, one of my favourite London locations. I do a lot of my London family photography sessions here, especially with families on holiday in this stunning city. It’s an area I know really well, so I was excited to show the couple some of the hidden gems of this location.

Tower Bridge engagement photography on the cobbled streets!

After getting lots of beautiful portraits of the couple together in front of Tower Bridge, we moved onto Shad Thames. I absolutely love this cobbled street, with old converted warehouses running down either side. This fun couple even did a little dancing on the cobbles which was great to photograph.

We then crossed over to the north side of the river, where there are more secret spots, perfect for photos. And I was really happy with the variety of fun, colourful engagement portraits we created in our morning together.

All in all, it was the most wonderful engagement shoot, and I really can’t wait for their wedding next year.

If you’d like your own Tower Bridge engagement photography session, or maybe one for your family, please do get in touch. You can see more of my couples’ portraits here London Engagement Photographer
