The early months with a new baby are full of tiny details, new routines, and a lot of time spent simply being together. My baby photography sessions are about capturing this stage in a calm, natural way - without pressure or expectations.
I work gently and patiently, allowing the session to follow your baby’s pace. There’s no rushing, no strict plan, and no need for everything to be "perfect".
Newborn sessions usually take place in your family home, where everyone feels most comfortable and relaxed. I come to you, so there’s no need to pack bags or travel anywhere in those early days.
Photographing your baby at home means:
If you’d like to capture the sleepy newborn stage, sessions work best within the first two weeks.
If you’re drawn to images with more eye contact and interaction between you and your baby, the 4-8 week stage can work beautifully too.
That said, there’s no pressure - every baby (and every family) is different.
If your baby is a little older, sessions are just as lovely - and even more flexible. Once babies are more alert or sitting confidently, we can photograph them:
At this stage, sessions often focus on expressions, curiosity and the connection between you and your baby.
Many families choose to book their baby photography session before their baby arrives, especially if they don’t want to miss the opportunity to capture those early days. By booking ahead, I can keep my diary flexible and we can gently plan a date once your baby is here, when you have a better sense of how those first weeks are unfolding. If you’re booking after your baby is born, that’s absolutely fine too - we’ll simply find a time that works for you.
However old your baby is, these months pass far more quickly than we ever expect. My aim is to create honest, timeless images that capture not just how your baby looked, but how this time felt - photographs that will only grow in meaning as the years go by.
One of two weeks after your session, your edited images will be ready to view in a private online gallery. From there, you can choose how you’d like to enjoy them:
If you’re looking for baby photography that feels relaxed, natural, and true to your family, I’d love to hear from you.
You’ll find lots of helpful information on my Baby FAQs page, including when to book your session and what to expect on the day. And you’re always very welcome to get in touch - I’m happy to help you plan a relaxed session for your family.
