London Vacation Photography – Frequently asked questions
What’s your photography style?
My vacation sessions are relaxed, natural, and all about capturing genuine moments. There’s no pressure to pose or “perform” - I’ll gently guide you when needed, but mostly I let things unfold so your photos feel real, joyful, and unforced. The aim is for your session to feel like a lovely part of your time in London, not another thing to organise.
When do vacation sessions usually take place?
Morning sessions often work best. The light is softer, popular locations are quieter, and it can be a calmer start to the day before the city gets busier. That said, I’m always mindful of jet lag and time differences - if mornings feel too early during your stay, I’m very happy to be flexible and plan your session for a time that suits you and your family best.
Where does the photo session take place?
Your vacation session will take place at one or more of your favourite London locations. This might be an iconic landmark, a beautiful park, or a quieter neighbourhood you’ve fallen in love with while exploring the city. I’m always happy to help suggest locations that suit your family, your pace, and the feel you’d like for your photos.
How long does a vacation session last?
Most vacation sessions last around an hour, which gives us plenty of time to relax, move around a little, and capture a lovely variety of images without it feeling rushed.
What if it rains?
London weather can be unpredictable, so flexibility is key. I’ll keep an eye on the forecast and be in touch ahead of your session. If needed, we can adjust the timing, change locations, or find another suitable time during your stay. I’ll always do my best to make sure you still have a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
Will you take any posed photos?
Yes - I’ll make sure we capture some relaxed portraits of you together, as well as plenty of natural, in-between moments. I’ll give gentle direction when helpful, but nothing stiff or awkward.
Do you photograph in colour or black & white?
I deliver a mix of both, choosing what suits each image best and helps tell your story in a timeless way.
How and when do we see our photos?
Your edited images will be ready to view in a private online gallery around one to two weeks after your session, so you can enjoy reliving your time in London once you’re back home.
How long do we have to choose what to order?
Your gallery will be open for 7 days, giving you time to choose the images you love most.
What should we wear?
Comfort is key, especially if you’ll be walking around the city. Choose outfits that feel like you and work well together. Simple clothing tends to photograph beautifully, and avoiding large logos or bold stripes helps keep the focus on you.
Are you insured?
Yes - I have both public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
How do we book a session?
Just get in touch and we’ll find a date that works with your travel plans. To secure your booking, I’ll ask for a signed contract and the session fee to be paid in full.
