Working as a London Musicians Photographer I photograph lots of musicians on their own. They usually need images either for a website or perhaps a concert programme. In this case I was lucky enough to photograph not just one but two musicians together. Sadie and Jeremy, a wonderful violinist and pianist, had just recorded the complete Brahms Sonatas. They asked me to photograph them to create some publicity shots. They chose Greenwich for the occasion which I was really happy about. It now seems to be a regular location for me as I’d already done a number of other shoots there during the year. This suited me down to the ground as I think it is a lovely place to wander around. It has so many wonderful backdrops to feature. Add two talented musicians and you have the recipe for some perfect pictures.
I like to add something different to portrait shots of musicians – Sadie and Jeremy were brilliant and happy to go along with a whole range of different ideas. The results we ended up with reflected their personalities very well and it was a relaxed and easy morning as we strolled together through the park. Even a little rain didn’t put us off – can’t wait to hear their CD when it comes out.
