I’ve wanted to share some images from this fantastic Richmond family photography session for a while now but it’s so hard to find the time. It’s busy season for family photographers now, so my weeks are action-packed with shoots and editing. With the weather getting warmer families are keen to have their family portraits taken outside in their favourite park. This family photography session took place just before Christmas and was full of energy and fun! The mother wanted to get some portraits taken of her toddler son and teenager daughter together. She also liked the idea of having some candid shots of them having fun outside. Their grandparents were also staying, so it was the ideal opportunity to include them in the family portraits.
A Festive Christmas portrait
We met at the family home and started talking straight away about our Christmas plans. The little boy was obviously excited and took me over to the Christmas tree where he was playing happily with his toys. While he played and chatted I took a lovely photo of him in front of the beautifully decorated tree. I love this festive portrait with the lights twinkling behind him. It’s such a special time of year and this photo captures the magic of it all for me.
Family Photographer in Richmond
We then made the short walk to the family’s local park. This is one of my favourite locations for family photography sessions, so I was happy! After getting some relaxed portraits of the two children together and with their grandparents it was free play time. We spent a lot of the photography session playing chase, hiding amongst the trees and blowing bubbles. This created so many opportunities for some really natural, unposed photos.
After this we went back to the house for a cup of tea and a bit of book reading. We had a short play in the garden and then it was time for this family photographer in Richmond to say goodbye. I was overjoyed when I heard the family loved the photos and wanted to showcase some of them in the beautiful frames I offer. I’m so pleased when my images hang on the walls of the family home rather than sitting on a computer 🙂
