I was so happy to do a second family photography session with this family, so soon after the first one! This time they asked me to take some Christmas family portraits with additional family members. The entrance to the house looked extremely festive, with its beautiful red decorations. So that’s where we started our Christmas family photography session. The children were particularly excited, with Christmas just around the corner. And I think their joy at all being together shines through in the photos.
Festive children’s portraits
We took lots of family portraits on the steps of the house, making sure we got lots of different family combinations. Then it was time for some individual children’s portraits. This is something I try to do in every London family photography session. For this particular family I used the pretty red Christmas decorations outside the house to bring a festive element to the portraits.
Then we decided to wander around the streets local to their home. The beautiful red brick mansions of Knightsbridge looked wonderful in the background of the portraits. And the children had such fun together, with lots of laughing, jumping and general excitement. This enabled me to get a good mix of relaxed portraits and more candid shots in our time together.
Christmas family portraits at home
We finished our family portrait session inside the family home, with the children gathered in front of the Christmas tree. They were so excited to see all the presents wrapped up, ready for opening on Christmas Day. We also got some fun, cosy family portraits on the sofa, the children laughing at each other’s jokes. It was a wonderful session and the family were delighted with the resulting Christmas family portraits.
