A sibling portrait – Sisters

Posted by & filed under Families.

This sibling portrait makes me smile so much! I just love the look between these two sisters and the cheeky grin of the little one. It was one of many fun photos I took on a London family photography session.

With my shorter one-hour sessions the family can choose whether to have the shoot out on location (usually in their favourite park) or in their home. With my longer three-hour sessions there’s time to do both, or sometimes I photograph the family out on a special trip.

Family photography sessions in your home

This lovely family had chosen to have their one-hour session in their London home and garden. And when I arrived at their home early one Saturday morning I could see why. Their house was beautiful and the garden stunning – the perfect setting for a family photography session.

We began the photoshoot with some relaxed family portraits in the garden. The weather was beautiful and sunny, so we’d decided to start the session early, partly to avoid the heat of the day, but mainly to have some softer light for the photos. We took lots of portraits of the parents with their two fun daughters and beloved pet dog in various spots around the garden. I always like to start any family photography session with the family portraits, before letting the action just happen naturally while I take more candid photographs.

A sibling portrait of two fun sisters

When I’d first arrived at the family home, I’d noticed the sofa (in the photo below) in the kitchen. I knew it would work perfectly for some photos when we’d finished in the garden. So when we moved indoors we captured some great family moments on the sofa. Some of the whole family together (including the dog of course!) and then of the two sisters. I can’t remember what they were chatting about when I clicked my shutter, but it was obviously funny!

I’m so happy with this sibling portrait – so sweet, natural and fun. If you’d like your children photographed in a relaxed photography session please do get in touch. More examples of my children’s photography can be seen here London Childrens Photographer
