I’m photographing Stephanie and Sam’s wedding at the beginning of July and I’m so excited I’m counting the days down! They are such a lovely couple and it looks like their wedding day is going to be fabulous! They were keen to have a natural engagement photography session outdoors, as it’s where they enjoy spending their free time. Both of them are very sporty and like nothing more than walking and running outside in nature. So, we decided Richmond would be the perfect location and met up there for their engagement shoot last March.
To say it was a bit chilly on the day would be quite an understatement! It was very cold and extremely windy, but this nature-loving couple didn’t let that put them off at all. Even when we were driving towards the park and saw that a tree had been blown over in the wind they were still smiling! I just knew that this pre-wedding photography session was going to be fun.
A chilly but fun natural engagement photography session in Richmond!
I’ve done lots of family photography in Richmond, but this was my first couples photography session there, so I was pretty excited. After nearly getting blown over a few times we decided the grasslands would be the perfect spot for some engagement portraits. We then headed towards the stunning trees and thought of lots of creative ways to use them in the photographs. There’s such a wild feel in this London park which Stephanie and Sam loved. The combination of that and how happy they obviously are together really shone through in the images.
They are such a fun couple and literally laughed their way through the whole engagement photography session! They were even brave enough to take their coats off for some of the time which was pretty impressive, as by this point I could barely feel my fingers!
I loved this natural engagement photography session with Stephanie and Sam and am really looking forward to their wedding, which I know is going to be just as fun and relaxed. I hope you enjoy seeing some of my favourite engagement portraits from our chilly morning in Richmond.
