London Graduation Photographer

I really enjoyed being a London graduation photographer again recently. It was with such a lovely family I’d photographed at the end of last year. They had been enjoying a holiday together in London and had booked one of my London family photography sessions at Chiswick House and Gardens. They were such a friendly family to photograph and we had a brilliant time creating memorable family portraits. So I was thrilled when they got in touch to book another session with me in October. This time it was to celebrate their son’s graduation from a top London University.

London Graduation Photographer at the Royal Albert Hall

After all the online graduations due to the pandemic, this one was actually taking place in person. The venue was the stunning Royal Albert Hall in Kensington, usually a concert hall, but used for graduation ceremonies too. Pretty exciting times indeed!  We met up before the graduation to capture some natural portraits of this clever young man and his proud family.

The Royal Albert Hall is an incredibly photogenic building, with it’s wonderful shape and red bricks. It looked fantastic in the background of lots of the family portraits. It also has a wonderful location, opposite the very beautiful Hyde Park. So after we’d got enough photos in front of the Royal Albert Hall, we wandered across Kensington Road and took more relaxed family photographs in this lovely park. We also used the stunning Albert Memorial as a backdrop to some of the graduate portraits. I really like the photo of the family walking past this famous monument, with the tall trees behind them. They look so happy to be spending this special day together.

London Graduation Portraits with crowds!

The family were also keen to include the buzz of the crowds in some of their images. This was a really interesting request, as I usually try to avoid getting people in the background of my family portraits. But actually, it really worked! I love the first photo below, where the family are all engaging with each other, and behind them are the crowds of graduates, excited to be celebrating this important moment in their lives.

Graduation portraits at Imperial College London

We also took some graduation photographs outside the striking building of Imperial College London. The place where this clever young man had studied so hard for his degree. I loved this graduation photography session so much and was really pleased with the images. And I was overjoyed to hear how happy the family were with their photographs too. I’ll look forward to my next London family photography session with them!

Family Portraits in the Park

I’m so happy to share these family portraits in the park with you. When families book me for a London family photography session, the most popular locations they choose are either their home or local park. I love doing both, as I know the photos will mean so much to the family in years to come. Not only will they look back lovingly at their children when they were younger, but they will also be able to enjoy the backdrop of either the home they grew up in, or the park where they spent so much of their childhood. Or in some cases both, if they book one of my longer family photoshoots!

The lovely family in the photos below chose to meet in their favourite local park for their family portraits. It’s a special place to them as it’s where they spend most of their free time together with their gorgeous little boy.

Special  features for family portraits in the park

As in all my park photoshoots I tried to include special features of the park in their images. One of the most distinctive features of this park is the stone wall that runs around the large playground area. I used this in their family portraits in lots of different ways. I really like the first image below where you can see a lot of the wall, with the little boy standing on top of it looking at his mum.  I also love the one where he is on his own, looking through one of the gaps in the wall. The arch of the gap frames his head perfectly, and I love his cute expression too!

I really hope you enjoy seeing these family portraits in the park as much as I enjoyed taking them. If you’d like your very own London family photography session in your favourite park please do get in touch. You can see more examples of my family portraits here Family Photographer London

Extended Family Portraits

In this recent London family photography session, I was particularly happy with the extended family portraits we got. This was the main thing the family wanted from our session together. A really natural family portrait of them all together. Nothing too posed, just a relaxed photo of them all enjoying each other’s company.

Originally the session was due to take place in a park near the family home. But on the day we decided to stay in the family garden instead. With such a fantastic garden and three little ones involved, it just felt more relaxed to stay there.

Extended family portraits in the garden

When there are large families involved, I usually start the photoshoot with the group portraits. It just works better when everyone is fresh. And younger children seem more likely to stay still for a few minutes when I’ve just arrived! So we set everyone up with the lovely greenery of the garden as the backdrop, and I got a few photos of them all looking at the camera. I then asked them to chat and ignore me, and I captured some really natural photos of them interacting with each other. I really like the first photo below, where some of the family are talking to each other, while the others seem to be chatting with the dog! It’s lovely to include pets in the group portraits, they are family after all.

While the going was good, we did a few different set ups in the same part of the garden, with some of the family kneeling on the grass. This way I knew we’d end up with a good variety of photos for the family to choose from.

Large family groups, pink roses and bubbles!

Right at the end of the garden there was a beautiful stone wall and some pink roses, which worked brilliantly for more family portraits, especially when we added in some bubbles!

As well as all the group shots we got that day, I was also really happy with the fun, candid images of the children running around the garden, having such a great time playing with their family. All in all, it was a fabulous session which I enjoyed from beginning to end. And I was thrilled when the family ordered one of my beautiful framed prints as a present for the grandparents. It gives me such joy to think of the photo they chose being enjoyed by everyone each day.

Studio Headshot Photography

I’ve been thinking about doing some studio headshot photography for a long time now and finally it’s happening. And I’m so excited to share this news with you!

Up to now I’ve been doing my London headshot photography sessions in the same way as I do my family photography. The sessions take place outdoors and I use a variety of natural backgrounds in the images. Sometimes we use London’s fantastic architecture as the backdrop. Or we might go to a park instead for something a little more natural. And I don’t want to stop doing it this way as I really enjoy it and I love the unique photographs it produces.

Warm and cosy studio headshot photography!

What I do want to do is offer an alternative, and that’s the plan with my studio headshot photography. Sometimes people only need a few simple headshots on a plain background to update their website and social media profiles. And now I can offer this in the comfort of my newly set up studio. Another advantage is that we don’t have to worry about the weather. Even if it’s cold and rainy outside we can be warm and cosy in my studio, having fun taking photos.

I also have a variety of different colour backgrounds to help produce a variety of images. And if you like you can bring a change of outfit with you, to get different looks in the photos. We can mix the session up a bit too, with some more serious headshot images for your business, and others more playful and fun.

Great value London Headshot Photographer

After the session you can choose from several different collections of digital images. Prices start at £195 for 3 photos, which is great value when you think of the huge boost it will bring your business. And if you can’t spare much time sessions can be as short as 10 minutes. But for those of you who would like a little more time to feel comfortable in front of the camera, we can spend up to an hour taking photos. There really is something to suit everyone.

If you need some new headshots taken for your business please do get in touch, and we can find the perfect London headshot photography session for you.

Chiswick House Family Photographer

It’s always a bit nerve-wrecking when you arrive at a venue to meet the family you’re photographing, and you discover that the session is a surprise for one of the family members! In this case the dad had thoughtfully booked the session as a birthday present for his wife, and she had no idea what was happening until she met me! I needn’t have worried though, as she was overjoyed at the idea of having a family photoshoot. As I hear so often, she’d wanted to have one for a while, but just hadn’t got around to booking one. And as for me – being a Chiswick House family photographer for an afternoon turned out to be the best fun!

The family were brilliant – there were three lovely children with their parents. Plus one grandma, an aunt and an uncle. And the venue they chose was one of my favourites – Chiswick House and Gardens. All in all, it was perfect, and I couldn’t wait to get going capturing some natural family portraits.

The joys of being a Chiswick House family photographer!

Chiswick House provides so many wonderful backdrops, so I’m always spoilt for choice when I photograph families there. For this session I picked some of my favourites backgrounds and in each location photographed different combinations of this extended family. This way they would have a huge variety of images to choose from after the shoot. The family were great to photograph – such fun, and the session was full of chat and laughter. The children were brilliant – running around, jumping up and down and cuddling.

One of my favourite images from this London family photography session is the one where they are doing funny walks along a pathway lined with beautiful purple flowers. Such a joyous image. I’m also really pleased with the large group portraits of everyone together. I really wanted these to look spontaneous, rather than forced and posed. I love how they are engaging with each other and you can see the close relationships between family members. This really was a wonderful London family photoshoot, and I’m so glad the surprise was a happy one!

London Graduation Photography

I loved this recent London graduation photography session so much! Not only was this talented student celebrating her graduation from a top London University, but her parents were also celebrating a special wedding anniversary. I couldn’t wait to capture double the amount of joy with this lovely family.

We met up one afternoon at University College London on Gower Street. The front of this impressive building provided the perfect backdrop for the graduation portraits. There were also some stone stairs which looked great when the family sat down on them chatting. The steps also featured in one of my favourite images of the session. The one where this lovely student walked gracefully down them, looking every inch the graduate in her gown.

Fun London graduation photography

I also really love the photo where she throws her mortar board high up into the air. And although you can’t see it, this clever young lady managed to catch it. Pretty impressive actually!

As well as getting lots of natural portraits of this university student on her own, we also got a huge variety of the family all together. The parents were obviously hugely proud of their daughter, which I tried to capture in the images. And of course, we didn’t forget the other celebration going on – the parents’ wedding anniversary. I love the photo of the two of them, heads together, sitting on the steps.

London graduation photographer at Waterstones!

We then strolled to a nearby Waterstones, where this charming student had spent many hours during her time at university. It was lovely to use it as a backdrop for some fun walking shots, with her gown casually draped over her arm. I hope in years to come these images will remind her of some of her favourite days studying.

It was such a pleasure to photograph this lovely family and I was overjoyed to hear how happy they were with their graduation and anniversary photographs. I really hope you enjoy seeing them too. Greenwich Baby Photographer

It’s always a pleasure being a Greenwich baby photographer, especially when the location is the stunning Greenwich Park. It’s such a beautiful park with breath-taking views over London, which I always try and include in the images. It also has special significance for me as I was lucky enough to live near the park many years ago. So it’s a place I’ve really enjoyed revisiting over the years with different families.

Greenwich baby photographer with a view!

The lovely family in the photos below had been given one of my gift vouchers by a family member. What a wonderful present! We met up early one sunny morning and began taking photos including the glorious London view. I think these are probably my favourite images from this London family photography session. The baby girl looked so sweet in her white dress and bright red socks. And I was really happy with all the baby portraits of her alone, and also the family shots where she is snuggled up with her doting parents.

London family photography with wild flowers

We then strolled to the Flower Garden in Greenwich Park where we used one of the beautiful wildflower beds as a backdrop to the family portraits. Here I also got some images of just mum with baby and dad with baby, something I try to do on every London family portrait photography session. I find this gives a greater variety of photos for the family to choose from when they view their images.

We finished this fun baby photography session with some bubbles. I’m sure I’ve mentioned before that I never leave home without a pot of bubbles. They work brilliantly in all my family photoshoots, whatever the age of the children!

Baby Photography in London

Doing baby photography in London really is one of the best jobs around! It’s so special when a new baby arrives in a family. And to be asked to document this amazing time is a privilege I never take for granted.

The wonderful family in the images below had just had their second beautiful boy. That in itself was a great reason for booking a London baby photography session. But add into the mix the fact that they were about to move back home to France, and you can see why they were especially  keen to have some meaningful family portraits taken in London. Family photographs that will always remind them of this very special time in their lives.

Baby photography in London’s Holland Park

We met at the family’s Kensington home early one summer’s morning. It was due to be a scorcher of a day, so we decided to do the outdoor part of this London family photography session straight away. We jumped in a taxi and a few minutes later arrived at one of my favourite London parks for family photography – Holland Park.

We had such a fun time taking lots of natural portraits in the family’s favourite areas of this stunning London park. While I was taking the photos, I kept thinking about what wonderful memories they would provide for the family in years to come. And remind them of the happy years they spent living in London and visiting this fantastic park.

Time to cool down with some cute indoor photos

As the temperature started to rise it was time to return to the family home. Here we had delicious cold drinks and took some relaxed indoor portraits. I was so happy with the cute photos we got of these two brothers together. One of my favourites has to be of the two of them on the bed wearing “Big Bro” “Little Bro” T-shirts. As they lay together the elder boy planted a gentle kiss on his baby brother’s forehead. It made the perfect sibling portrait!

I was so happy to hear that the family were thrilled with their photos. And they were really looking forward to decorating their new French home with prints from their London family photoshoot.

Primrose Hill Family Photography

I’m so happy to share these images from a Primrose Hill family photography session with you. The family had booked one of my longer 3-hour family photography sessions, as they wanted the photos taken in different areas of London. The main reason for the shoot was to celebrate their daughter’s first birthday, which was a wonderful idea. They actually ended up ordering one of my beautiful albums when they say the photos, as they wanted their daughter to enjoy the images so beautifully presented as she grew up.

Tower Bridge family portraits

We met up early one morning for our family photoshoot near Tower Bridge. It’s one of my favourite locations for London family and vacation photography sessions. As well as the spectacular bridge itself there are lots of brilliant surrounding areas on both sides of the bridge, all of which make perfect backdrops for family portraits. The family were an absolute joy to photograph. They were so happy to be exploring around Tower Bridge with their daughter. And they were also complete naturals in front of the camera, which made my job very easy!

Primrose Hill family photography with a view!

We then made our way across London to Primrose Hill. After climbing to the top of the hill we stopped for a moment to appreciate the stunning views across the City. If you haven’t already visited this wonderful park it really is worth the trip. The views simply take your breath away!

After capturing a series of natural family portraits at the top of Primrose Hill we had lots of fun in other areas of the park, before making our way back to the family home. This is the advantage of booking one of my longer family photography sessions – we can include several locations in the photoshoot. We took more photos of this still smiling family in their home, including one of my favourites. The one with the big number one balloon. How special will this photo be in years to come!

A beautiful album for your London family portraits

I was so happy that the family absolutely loved all of their London family portraits. And I really enjoyed designing their gorgeous album for them, which they were delighted with. Apparently their little daughter is already looking at it curiously, and I imagine this fascination will grow in the years to come.

Kensington Family Photographer

I just love this photo of two brothers I took when I spent a morning as a Kensington family photographer. The family were about to move out of London and wanted to have some family portraits taken to remind them of their special time living here. They lived in Kensington and chose to start their London family photography session in their favourite park. I was so happy with their choice, as it was also one of my favourite locations for family photoshoots – Holland Park.

For those of you who don’t know it, Holland Park really is worth a visit. It has so many interesting features, including a giant chess set and peacocks! And it doesn’t matter how many family photoshoots I do in this park; I always manage to find new backgrounds each time.

Holland Park family portraits

We started the family photography session fairly early as it was going to be a hot day. I had such a fun time with these two gorgeous boys and their parents. And we got a fantastic selection of natural portraits in different areas of the park. After around an hour we were all starting to feel the heat, so we made our way to the family home.

After a nice cold drink and a change of outfit, we began to take more photos. I really wanted to get some of the two boys together, so we popped the baby on his brother’s bed. His older sibling willingly climbed up next to him and started kissing him. It was completely adorable! I clicked away and ended up with this sweet portrait of them together. I just love it, with their “Big Bro” “Lil Bro” T-shirts – the baby snoozing away with his older brother about to plant a big kiss on his forehead. I’m sure this will be a photograph the two boys will love to look at in years to come!
