This year’s wedding season kicked off in style in February. My first wedding of 2019 was a wonderful, relaxed affair in Hertfordshire and I loved every minute of it! I hope you enjoy seeing a selection of the natural wedding photographs I took on this amazing day.
Bridal Preparations – one of my favourite parts of the wedding day
The day started off with bridal preparations at the hairdressers. As soon as I met up with Jo and her bridesmaid I knew we were going to have fun! I always really enjoy photographing the bridal preparations. There’s such excitement in the air with the wonderful wedding day stretching out ahead.
As soon as the bride to be and her bridesmaid had finished at the hairdressers (and how fantastic did they both look!) we made the brief walk to the hotel where they had stayed the previous night. There was time for a little champagne and lots of chat while they made their final preparations. It was then time for me to leave them and drive to meet the groom before the ceremony.

I made my way to Hertford Register Office and met up with Martin, his two sons and best man. They were having such a laugh and I clicked away, taking lots of natural wedding photographs of them all together. When Jo arrived for the ceremony and stepped out of the wedding car she looked absolutely stunning. Her dress was exquisite, and I couldn’t wait to see Martin’s face when he saw her for the first time that day. The ceremony was beautiful – emotional and full of laughter too – just the way it should be!
Following the service and some of the best fun group portraits ever, we all made our way to the Fox and Hounds Restaurant in Hundson. The wedding breakfast was taking place in a private room, which was so stylish and perfect. After some drinks and canapes, it was time to sit down for the speeches before the meal. The speeches were heartfelt and moving and the perfect end to my day. At this point it was time for me to say goodbye to this lovely couple and make my way home to London, smiling all the way!
