In my work as a London family, wedding and musicians photographer I photograph all over this amazing city of ours. But one of the places I find myself coming back to again and again is the Southbank.
I have photographed so many families there. It’s a particular favourite area for families who are visiting London on holiday, with so many famous landmarks along that part of the River Thames. It’s also really popular with musicians, who might know the area well from taking part in concerts at the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room.
Tower Bridge Wedding
I’ve also photographed lots of engagement shoots along this stretch of river and some fantastic weddings too. I did one memorable wedding actually inside Tower Bridge which was wonderful. We made sure we got the group shots with the stunning bridge in the background and then the reception was just around the corner in St. Katharine’s Dock. Oxo Tower Wedding
Another wedding that stands out is the one I photographed in London’s Oxo Tower, which is the most fantastic wedding venue. The wedding space is on the second flower of the Oxo Tower, looking out across the River Thames. There’s also a balcony where you can take in the view across to St Paul’s Cathedral. The Skateboard Park
And I can’t finish this blog without mentioning the famous Skateboard Park next to the River Thames near the Royal Festival Hall. The graffiti all over the walls provide the most wonderful, vibrant backgrounds. I love to return there as often as possible to see what new artwork has gone up since last time. Actually, that’s something I love about the whole area – it is constantly changing. New backgrounds appear all the time, keeping each photography session fresh and unique.
