London Wedding Photos – Wimbledon, London

The amount of planning that goes into a successful wedding is incredible. Every little detail is thought through and worked out months in advance. I’ve photographed loads of fabulous ideas at some wonderful London weddings. One thing you can’t control, of course, is the weather. When Faye and Matthew knew the forecast for their big day in Wimbledon was looking ominously damp they came up with a plan B. They chose some brilliant alternatives to their outdoor activities. This made for some wonderful London wedding photos.

As soon as I arrived at Faye’s parents’ home it was obvious that the weather wasn’t going to dampen anyone’s spirits. We had a fun couple of hours taking photos of Faye and her bridesmaids getting ready. After this we were collected in style by a Routemaster bus. As we travelled between venues on this bright red icon of London’s heritage, the excitement of the day started to mount.

Wedding Ceremony at Merton Register Office

The wedding service was held at Merton Register Office and was full of emotions. There were lots of tears and also laughter. One of the funniest moments was when the little page boy piped up when the registrar asked if there was any reason why the couple should not be married!

Faye teaches in a primary school and was overjoyed when her young class turned up to surprise her at the end of the ceremony. Luckily the rain held off as everyone threw confetti and blew bubbles over the couple.

The celebrations then began aboard the Routemaster bus, as we made our way to the reception at Wimbledon Chase Primary School. The location, where Matthew works, is wonderful with a beautiful main building and some lovely grounds. The theme for the reception was a fun fair. Faye and Matthew had moved the games inside the building to save people from tiptoeing through the raindrops.

The party continued into the night. An ice-cream van even arrived at one moment, with the happy couple serving their guests 99s!

After the first dance Faye then transformed her dress with some fun pink accessories and baseball boots . She then went on to perform an impressive display on the dance floor!

They used to say that your schooldays are the happiest days of your life. It was obvious from this fantastic school-based wedding that the bride and groom have a lot of happy years ahead to look forward to.
