David & Katie – London Engagement Photos – Barnet

Posted by & filed under Weddings.

David and Katie are getting married soon in a beautiful church in Monken Hadley Barnet). Then will follow a reception at the very fashionable Frederick’s in Islington. A routemaster bus will be taking them between venues – all so stylish and I can’t wait! They chose Monken Hadley Common, near to their home, to have their London engagement photos taken. The shoot happened on a very, very hot summer’s afternoon. I seem to be saying that a lot this year!

How to achieve natural engagement photos

An engagement photography session is a great way for the couple to get used to being in front of the camera before their big day. So when their wedding arrives they’ll be so used to being photographed that they’ll hardly notice I’m there! I try and keep all my portrait shots as authentic as possible but I do guide couples into a few “poses”. I show them what will work really well and look natural. It turned out that David and Katie hardly needed any guidance at all. They were complete naturals in front of the camera. They also have such a good sense of humour and kept dissolving into fits of laughter. This made the whole photography session such good fun.

We had a wonderful walk around Monken Hadley Common, chatting about their wedding plans and taking photos. I am so looking forward to their big day!
