Because lockdown has been eased slightly in London we’re now able to leave our homes a bit more. Just like the pair in this couples portrait we can stroll through our favourite parks for longer. In addition we’re allowed to sit down, sunbathe and have picnics. How perfect in this wonderful weather we’re having at the moment!
Natural Engagement Photography
As well as all the family photography I do I still take on a select number of London weddings each year. Obviously they’re not happening at the moment, but when I do photograph them I love them. I have a few different wedding collections that I can offer to couples planning their big day. And one of them contains an engagement shoot. This is a two-hour couples photography session that can take place anywhere in London. I always encourage the couple to choose a location that means a lot to them. Maybe their local park or other favourite park in London. Or somewhere more urban perhaps. The Southbank works brilliantly for this and I’ve done many wonderful engagement photoshoots there over the years.
Couples Portrait Photography
As well as engagement sessions I also do lots of photoshoots for couples who just want to have some natural portraits taken of them together. Maybe they’re on holiday in this wonderful city and want to remember their trip with some professional photographs of them at all their favourite London landmarks.
The couple in the photo chose Battersea Park for their couples portrait photography session. We started the photoshoot with some close-up relaxed portraits of the two of them together. After that we explored this beautiful London Park, walking most of the way around it. I love this image of them wandering arm in arm across the wide-open spaces of the park toward the iconic Battersea Power Station. I kept the couple small in the frame to emphasise the huge space ahead of them. Hopefully you like the photo too!
