I had a rush of London vacation photography sessions towards the end of last year and am excited to share this festive one with you. This lovely American family were on holiday in London and wanted to get some Christmas family portraits taken. Then they were going to use their favourite image for the family Christmas card.
Festive London family photography
We decided to do the vacation photography session in Covent Garden, where the family were staying. Covent Garden is one of my favourite areas of London anyway, but at Christmas it looks extra special. The shops are always beautifully decorated, so I knew we would be spoilt for choice with backgrounds. And of course, there’s always the huge Christmas tree in the Piazza, which just had to be in a few of the photos!
Christmas Family Portraits with a hint of red!
As you’ve probably noticed I love using colour in my photography. So I was really pleased when I met up with the family to see the boy was wearing a fabulous bright red top. The girl also had a lovely colourful hat on, with one perfect red stripe. We took a huge range of Christmas Family Portraits using different colour backdrops. But I particularly like the ones where the backgrounds are also red. The restaurant with the red sleigh full of penguins, the red Christmas tree lights. The pub, the phones boxes and the baubles – they all worked perfectly in these family portraits.
I enjoyed this festive London vacation photography session so much. It was such fun to spend an hour with this lovely family in one of my favourite London locations. And I was overjoyed to hear how happy they were with the photos too.
