A midsummer’s day wedding – how romantic! You can’t get much better than glorious sunshine throughout your special day. And this wedding at Kingswood Golf Club in Tadworth, Surrey provided the perfect setting for Becky and Derek. With fabulous views over Chipstead Valley and a wonderful firework display after sunset it had all the elements of a wedding photographer’s dream. And although most of most my work is in London for this day I was so happy to be a Surrey Wedding Photographer.
Time to photograph both the bride and groom getting ready
Becky was calmness personified as she went through her bridal preparations during the afternoon. In the fact the whole of the preparations were extremely relaxed as everything was happening at the same location. No driving between venues trying to capture everything was lovely for me! This meant that I could nip downstairs at some point while Becky was getting ready and photograph the men. They were having fun putting finishing touches on the wedding breakfast decorations and making sure their ties were in order!
When she was ready Becky looked absolutely stunning. She then made the short walk down the stairs to meet Derek for the very beautiful and moving ceremony.
The best time for romantic wedding portraits
After making the vows we wandered through the stunning grounds to capture some lovely portrait shots. We made plenty of use of the variety of backdrops. I love doing the wedding couple portraits as soon after the service as possible. The couple just can’t believe they are actually married now and I hardly have to direct them at all to get the most romantic of portraits.
Later on, all the wedding guests assembled for some emotional speeches before readying themselves for some crazy moves on the dance floor. The balmy evening was then transformed by a spectacular firework display.
What a wonderful day. I enjoyed it so much and it was also lovely to see some familiar faces from a previous wedding. Here are some of my favourite images of the day…
Just as wonderful as the Engagement photos ! Thank you Alexa for capturing the day so beautifully and thank you too for your lovely words . Best wishes .
