I just wanted to share some natural family photos I took during a fantastic photography session in the summer. Now the days are getting colder it’s lovely to look back at images from warmer days. Although I love the Autumn there’s something wonderfully carefree about being outdoors in a T-shirt and shorts with the long day stretching ahead.
A hot London family photography session!
The lovely family in the photos below had booked one of my three-hour sessions. The day was set to be a scorcher, so we started nice and early to avoid the midday heat. We met up in the family’s favourite local park to begin our London family photography session. The local park is often the location of choice for families. It works perfectly as it’s usually the place where the family spend most of their free time together. It will be wonderful in years to come for the children to see the park where they enjoyed their childhood.
We began the family photoshoot with some relaxed family portraits. It’s always good to do these at the beginning of the session when the children are fresh and also intrigued with what’s going on. It gives us more of a chance for little ones to stay still long enough to get some family portraits!
After that we had a gentle stroll by the River Thames in this beautiful part of London. We also spent some time in the children’s playground, where the two cute little sisters enjoyed being pushed on the swings.
Then it was bubble time in the long grass, which produced some of my favourite images of the morning. As the children started to tire the London family photography session ended with some mummy and daddy cuddles.
Natural family photos in the Autumn colours
It might not be hot any more, but Autumn is a beautiful time for creating natural family photos. The colours and light are just amazing.
