London Wedding Photography at the OXO Tower, Southbank

Happy New Year to you all! It’s been the most fantastic twelve months of taking photos  I’ve photographed weddings, musicians and families, headshots, parties and other events. I’ve loved every single minute of it and I’d like to finish the year with this stunning wedding. It took place at one of London’s most iconic buildings – the OXO Tower, Southbank.

Bridal Preparations next to St Paul’s Cathedral

This amazing November wedding began in the fabulous Grange Hotel next to St. Paul’s Cathedral. It was a beautiful hotel where Shenim and her bridesmaids had chosen to get ready. The balcony of the hotel had the most incredible backdrop of the Cathedral. It was almost within reach of an outstretched hand! We managed to take some lovely pre-wedding portraits of the bride and her bridesmaids on the balcony. The gusts of wind certainly added a bit of drama for the floating veil shots!

A wedding ceremony with a view!

Soon afterwards we moved on to the ceremony at the OXO Tower. It was so beautiful to watch Shenim and Chris take their vows overlooking the River Thames. It was such a fabulous setting! The venue itself is very modern and Shenim and Chris had lit the walls in a lovely pink and purple combination. This added a lovely extra splash of colour to the proceedings.

Following the fabulous meal, Shenim and Chris started the dancing . Their guests were soon pinning bank notes to their clothing in a wonderfully traditional custom, mixing old and new together. It was a great time to capture the happy couple and their guests as they enjoyed the party long into the night.

This was my first time taking wedding photos inside the OXO Tower and I really hope it won’t be my last! I’ve always loved photographing anywhere along London’s Southbank – it works for every type of shoot – families, engagement sessions, musicians and headshots. But this wedding really was one of the highlights of my photography career so far – a wedding I will never forget!
