In my work as a family photographer London often becomes the backdrop to my images. In my vacation photography it might be some of London\u2019s stunning landmarks. For a family living in London it\u2019s more likely to be their local park. In the case of this natural family portrait it was the family\u2019s favourite London park.<\/p>\n

Family photographer London\u00a0parks<\/h2>\n

We met up one slightly grey Sunday afternoon earlier this year. It was drizzling a little but there was no way that was going to spoil our fun! When I work with families my aim is to get a wide variety of images, even if the session is only one hour long. I usually start the family photography session with some relaxed portraits of the whole family together. I\u2019ll usually have had a look around the park before the session to pick out a few perfect settings for the photos. This saves time when I\u2019m actually with the family, so we can then focus on having fun and capturing some fantastic family portraits.<\/p>\n

The perfect spot for a natural family portrait<\/h2>\n

As soon as I saw this huge fallen down tree trunk I knew it would work brilliantly for some photos of the whole family together. It was a great seat for the children and the parents could stand just behind them. And I love the two trees in the background that frame the family so perfectly. I got the family into position and we got some lovely portraits of them all looking at the camera. Then I was just about to ask the family to ignore me and tell each other their favourite jokes when THIS happened! Their gorgeous dog decided it was time to join in the family photograph and jumped up onto the tree trunk and pushed in to join the fun! It was such a funny genuine moment and I\u2019m so glad I was ready to catch it with my\u00a0camera.<\/p>\n

This natural family portrait was\u00a0one of my favourite images from this family photography session \u2013 I can\u2019t wait to share a few more with you later this month.<\/p>\n
