Every summer for the last few years I\u2019ve photographed this lovely family in South East London. It’s a\u00a0date I look forward to all year! It seems as if I\u2019ve only just sent the family their album before we\u2019re booking in the photo session for the following\u00a0summer!<\/p>\n

I first photographed this family when their daughter was newborn. When I visited last July they were celebrating her third birthday. This little girl is such a fantastic character and so full of energy. It’s almost impossible to keep her still enough for a portrait, but I love it this way! The photos are so real and full of life and some of my favourites that I took\u00a0in 2017.<\/p>\n

It’s lovely to include extended family in the photo shoot!<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s always an extra special day too when we have our family photography session as the extended family are visiting. This doesn\u2019t happen too often as some of them have travelled all the way from New Zealand and America. So when we meet it\u2019s very important to get them all together for some family portraits. We always seem blessed with the weather as well and this year spent all the session outside in the large family garden, where the little bundle of energy could run around to her heart\u2019s content while I captured some fun images.<\/p>\n

One of my favourite images\u00a0of this family photography session and actually of the whole of last year is the first one in the series, where she had borrowed her Grandma\u2019s shoes and was marching around the garden at full speed! I remember so clearly doing this when I was young \u2013 it seemed like such a grown-up thing to do. As well as the parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents enjoying these photos now, I\u2019m sure this little girl will look back in years to come and remember those carefree summer afternoons, when she charged around at top speed wearing her Grandma\u2019s shoes!<\/p>\n

So we\u2019re booked in for our next family photography session in the summer and I\u2019m looking forward to it already!<\/p>\n
