This is one of the things I absolutely love about my job.\u00a0I was recently asked to photograph a family party. These are great as they are\u00a0the perfect combination of different generations all having a good time. This party was no exception! The grandparents were\u00a0celebrating their birthday at the Lensbury Hotel in Teddington with their children, grandchildren and friends.<\/p>\n<h2>What a wonderful location next to the River Thames<\/h2>\n<p>It was my first time photographing at The Lensbury Hotel but I hope it won&#8217;t be my last! It is in such a fantastic location, backing onto the River Thames, with lots of space for everyone to relax and the children to run around. That wonderful space was an invitation for the kids to explore the grounds and enjoy some active games while the grown-ups watched on with amusement.<\/p>\n<p>Relaxed and informal photographs of children enjoying themselves are always a source of joy. It&#8217;s\u00a0great to capture memories of a special day that will last a lifetime. I sometimes have to encourage kids to just be themselves and feel natural in front of the camera but this group just went for it right away. An enjoyable afternoon of family photography at it&#8217;s best \u2013 I really enjoyed it.<\/p>\n<h2>Relaxed and natural children&#8217;s portraits<\/h2>\n<p>A\u00a0lot of the day was about\u00a0capturing the spontaneous fun of the day. I was also able to get some relaxed portraits of the grandchildren of the couple who were celebrating their birthday. I love taking children&#8217;s portraits in this way . Rather than asking them to pose in a studio it&#8217;s so lovely if they can be outside having fun in their favourite environment, such as a playground in this case. Then it&#8217;s just a case of just waiting for them to pause, look at me briefly and there you have a lovely natural children&#8217;s portrait photo \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/s332526204.websitehome.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Family-Photographer-London-1001.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3909\" title=\"Family Photographer -
