I really enjoyed being a London graduation photographer again recently. It was with such a\u00a0lovely family I’d photographed at the end of\u00a0last year. They had been enjoying a holiday together in London\u00a0and had booked\u00a0one of my London family photography sessions at Chiswick House and Gardens. They were such a friendly family to photograph and we had a brilliant\u00a0time creating memorable family portraits. So\u00a0I was thrilled when they got in touch to book\u00a0another session with me in October. This time it was to celebrate their son\u2019s graduation from a top London University.<\/p>\n

London Graduation Photographer at the Royal Albert Hall<\/h2>\n

After all the\u00a0online graduations due to the pandemic, this one was actually taking place in person. The venue was the stunning\u00a0Royal Albert Hall<\/a>\u00a0in Kensington, usually a concert hall, but used for graduation ceremonies too.\u00a0Pretty exciting times indeed!\u00a0\u00a0We met up before the graduation to capture some natural portraits of this clever young man and his proud family.<\/p>\n

The Royal Albert Hall is an incredibly photogenic building, with it’s wonderful shape and red bricks. It looked fantastic\u00a0in the background of lots of the family portraits. It\u00a0also has a wonderful\u00a0location,\u00a0opposite the very beautiful Hyde Park. So after we’d got enough photos in front of the Royal Albert Hall, we wandered across Kensington Road and took more\u00a0relaxed family photographs in this lovely park. We\u00a0also used the stunning Albert Memorial as a backdrop to some of the graduate portraits. I really like the photo of the\u00a0family\u00a0walking past this famous monument, with the tall trees behind them. They look so happy to be spending this special day together.<\/p>\n

London Graduation Portraits with crowds!<\/h2>\n

The family were also keen to include\u00a0the buzz of the crowds in some of their images. This was a really interesting request, as I usually try\u00a0to avoid getting people in the background of my family portraits. But actually, it really worked! I love the first photo below, where the family are all engaging with each other, and behind them are the crowds of graduates, excited to be celebrating this important moment in their lives.<\/p>\n

Graduation portraits at Imperial College London<\/h2>\n

We also took\u00a0some graduation photographs outside the striking building of Imperial College London<\/a>. The place where\u00a0this clever young man had studied so hard for\u00a0his degree. I loved this graduation photography session so much and was really pleased with the images. And I was overjoyed to hear how happy the family were with their photographs too. I’ll look forward to my next London family photography session with them!<\/p>\n
