I loved this family photography session so much, and during it I took one of my favourite photographs of the year! The session took place right in the heart of Westminster, with the iconic Houses of Parliament providing a magnificent backdrop to the photographs. This lovely family — mum, dad, baby girl, and their energetic dog — brought so much joy to the morning. It really was lovely to get to know them. We began with a few Westminster family photos in front of Big Ben, such a famous London landmark. Afterwards we took some adorable portraits of the baby girl and her little furry best friend.

Natural Family Portraits with Big Ben

The standout image for me was the hilarious moment when the family dog leapt into the air, right over the baby’s head! It’s one of those natural family portraits that perfectly captures the fun that happens during a session. Behind the scenes, dad was just out of frame holding up a treat to encourage the dog to jump. And the baby’s look of surprise made the photo truly unforgettable. As a London family photographer, I always love moments like these where real personality shines through.

Westminster Family Photos

We finished the session with a relaxed stroll along the river path, capturing laughter and connection as we walked along. And finally, we took a few London family portraits on Westminster Bridge. And once again the Houses of Parliament provided the most stunning backdrop to the images. These Big Ben family portraits turned out so natural and full of fun – exactly what I aim for in every London family session.
